Geological & Geophysical Study Consultant
Whether you’re looking to conduct mining viability assessments, optimize vectoring and targeting, provide technical reporting or more, our geology consultants are ready to deliver the answers you need. With extensive experience in mineral exploration, geophysics and GIS across multiple industries, our geologists can assist with a variety of projects from surface to subsurface.
We work closely with our engineering and environmental specialists to integrate geological studies in the development of offshore and onshore projects. This includes dredging, site surveys of marine structures (pipelines, cables), underwater archaeology and benthic habitats, beach replenishment and stabilization, search and recovery, and more.
Ms. Lise Brinton (Senior Associate Consultant - Geoscience) has over 28 years of industry experience in sedimentology, petrography and thin section analysis applied to petroleum exploration and field development. Her experience extends to carbonate, mixed carbonate-clastic, and clastic depositional systems with worldwide interpretation experience in sequence stratigraphic correlation, core to log evaluation, reservoir characterization, and identification of controls on petroleum reservoir occurrence and distribution.
She is also experienced in structural and stratigraphic interpretation of wellbore images, integrating those with petrophysical and geologic data. She regularly teaches domestic and international courses on the structural and stratigraphic interpretation of wellbore image data.
Managing Director
Mr. Chad Baillie (Senior Consultant - Reservoir Geophysicist) has more than 10 years of experience in oil and gas with an emphasis on integrated reservoir characterization using an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving. This has involved working directly with geophysicists, Geological & Geophysical Study consultant geologists and engineers. He has worked on conventional and unconventional reservoirs in a wide range of geographical environments including shelf and deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Permian Basin, East Texas, Carpathian Basin in Romania, Llanos Basin in Colombia and the North Slope of Alaska. He has also been active in the management of geological work programmes, generating prospects and leads and assisting in business development through farm-out campaigns.
Geo SubSea specializes in marine geophysical surveys to evaluate the seabed for offshore infrastructure, including buried pipelines, cable routes, and other man-made structures. We work with clients in a number of sectors including offshore energy, oil & gas, marine renewables, shipping and transportation, and oceanography. Our staff uses a combination of EM, airborne and marine geophysical methods to collect data, develop interpretations, and identify potential hazards.
As a Geophysical Services Manager at NORCAL, Bill oversees the technical development and conducts specialized geophysical surveys requiring the tailoring of specific geophysical techniques for highly specific objectives or specialized site conditions. He has conducted a variety of surface and borehole geophysical investigations in many locales and is skilled at both borehole and surface logging, resistivity, induced polarity (IP), ground penetrating radar (GPR), magnetometry, frequency domain electromagnetics (FDEM) and time domain electromagnetics (TDEM). He has also performed a number of specialized studies to determine the potential presence of buried waste in various locales. He is a member of Terracon’s Geophysical Services team and provides support for clients nationwide.
